Arthur Vernon Vickers

Mr. Vickers passed away Saturday morning at his home.



The husband of Edna Ledford Vickers, who survives, he was a diesel mechanic, working for Crow's Truck Service. He was born on August 1, 1936 in Middleton, son of the late William Wright "Tip" Vickers and Ruth Hanna Hicks Vickers and lived his whole life here. He served in the US Air Force and was a member of Reaves United Methodist Church.



In addition to his wife, whom he married on November 26, 1982, survivors include two daughters, Vicki Nygard of Holyoak, Colorado and Rhonda Craig of Midwest City, Oklahoma; a step daughter, Teresa J. Howell of Hickory Valley; two sons, Arthur V. Vickers, Jr. of New Albany, Mississippi and Jim Vickers of Erlanger, Kentucky, 7 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ina Mae Pipkin and five brothers, Parnell, Jimmy, Roy, Alfred and Burton Vickers.
