ARTHUR ROSS, JR.
Was born in Friendship, Tennessee on April 28, 1923 the son of the late Arthur Allen, Sr. and Myrtle Adaline Bingham Ross.
On December 16, 1950 he was united in marriage to Anna Louise Green, who survives.
Mr. Ross served his country in the United States Army, he was a medic in World War II. Mr. Ross was a farmer and he was a member of National Rifle Association, American Legion, Woodmen of the World and Gideons International. Mr. Ross was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church for 69 years and served as Deacon for 47 years and was also a Sunday School teacher. He was a loving, generous, faithful and dependable son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Obedience and Truth were words he lived by.
Mr. Ross departed this life on October 17, 2014 at his residence in Morris Chapel, Tennessee at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 19 days.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, Anna, he is survived by his children, Nancy Ross Wyatt and her husband Robert of Hartsville, South Carolina and David Ross and his wife Charlotte of Morris Chapel, Tennessee.
three grandchildren, Jennifer Channell and her husband David of Hookers Bend Community, Robert Ross of Ft. Worth, Texas and Lara Wyatt of Hartsville, South Carolina
three great grandchildren, Ashley Channell and Kailee Channell, both of Hookers Bend Community and Aubrey Dewitt of Ft. Worth, Texas
one brother, Johnny Ross and his wife Vera of Sweeny, Texas
two sister in laws, Sue Ross of Ashflat, Arkansas and Juanita Ross of Albuquerque, New Mexico
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Mamie Sue Ross Sheffield and three brothers, Lytle "Pat" Ross, Sam Ross, and Freddie Ross.
