Arthur Roper Hopson

June 13, 1914 — May 15, 2008

Mr. Hopson passed away Thursday night at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.



The widower of the late Clair Hopson, he was a psychiatric technician at Western Mental Health Institute. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Golden Sounds Choir.



Survivors of Mr. Hopson include three daughters, Sally Ann Hopson Allen of Palm Desert, CA, Elizabeth Inez Hopson Denham of Sparta, MI and Sylvia Rose Hopson DeLodder of Conklin, MI; two sons, John Arthur Hopson of Sparta, MI and Donald Richard Hopson of Rathdrum, ID; one sister, Inez Lowery of Merrillville, IN; one brother, Raymond Hopson of Coldwater, MS; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Wright, and a brother, Richard Hopson.
