Arnold Jeter was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on March 23, 1920 the son of the late Neill and Verna Churchwell Jeter.During his life Mr. Jeter was a construction worker and heavy equipment operator with Preston Carroll Construction, Franklin Limestone, Brow and Jeter Construction, TVA, and he also worked for Hardin Farmers CO-OP. His hobbies included baseball and watching his family play sports. In 1977 he moved into the Double Springs Community and was a member of the Double Springs Baptist Church. He was known by many as Popaw Jeter.Mr. Jeter departed this life on Wednesday, November 07, 2007 at the age of 87 years, 7 months, 15 days.He is survived by a son: Neal Jeter of Clifton, Tennesee; 3 daughters: Syble Cooksey, Gayle Williams, and Alice Whitlow all of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 sisters: Dola Jean Carroll of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Johnnie Sue Jones of Indiana; a brother: W.J. Jeter of Benton , Kentucky; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents Mr. Jeter was preceded in death by a son: Terry Jeter; 5 brothers: Ray Jeter, Claude Jeter, Guy Jeter, Fay Jeter, and an infant brother; a sister: Elizabeth Ann Brown.
