Funeral services for Arlie H. Dodd, age 91, of Florence, AL will be One p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Shackelford Chapel in Collinwood with Everett Rich, Emerald Bailey, and Gerald Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Cypress Inn with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge.
Mr. Dodd, a native of Wayne County, died at his home in Florence Thursday, November 2, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Riley Dodd and Elvie Franks Dodd and a sister, Pearl Burns.
Mr. Dodd was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Force.
He was a member of the Baptist Church and a self employed business man.
He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Joyce Bates Dodd;
Sons, Keith Dodd and Marty Dodd all of Florence, AL
5 grandchildren; sisters, Irene Wain and Jewel Snider both of Nashville,
and nieces and nephews.
