Anthony Lee Barkley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony Rich Barkley, age 61, who passed away on March 3, 2025. He was born on December 25, 1963, in Florence, AL, Anthony was the son of the late James Edward “Jimmy” Barkley and Patsy Ruth Vickey.

Anthony’s journey through life began in Wayne County, TN, where he graduated from Collinwood High School. Anthony found joy in the simple pleasures of life – from spending time in the great outdoors searching for arrowheads to indulging in the melodies of his favorite music.

Anthony's legacy will continue in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his beloved son, Blake Lee Barkley of Cypress Inn, TN; his sister, Lou Pettus of Florence, AL; his stepmom, Ann Barkley of Cypress Inn, TN; his special friend, Pam Phillips of Tuscumbia, AL; and several nieces and a nephew. His laughter, strength, and caring spirit will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Barkley; his mother, Pat Vickery; his stepfather, Ross Vickery; and his brother-in-law, Michael Pettus.

In accordance with the family's wishes, Anthony will be cremated, with services to take place at a later date, followed by his burial in Fielder’s Cemetery in Hardin County, TN.
