Annie Elizabeth "Sissy" Cox

Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Cox passed from this life Friday evening, March 6, 2015 at the age of 95 years, 1 month and 6 days.

Mrs. Cox was born January 29, 1920 in Hornsby, TN to Albert and Annie Baker Crawford. She married Mr. Arlen Cox January 1, 1939 who survives and worked for more than 30 years at Western Mental Health Institute where she had worked her way up to supervisor. In addition to her work at Western, she enjoyed working in the fields, canning, and cooking. She was a member of Hornsby Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband Arlen, Mrs. Cox is survived by her step-grandson Grant Lowry of Hornsby; a sister Mary Dean Chandler of Hornsby; and two brothers, Kenneth Crawford of Hornsby and Deryal Crawford of Bolivar. She had lived all her life in Hardeman County. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Gaylon Lynn Lowry; two sisters Velma Barnes and Frances Mayfield and four brothers, A. B., Elmo, Robwood and Clifford Crawford.
