Annie Bonar

Ann Stricklin Abrams Bonar, better known as "Mama Annie", passed away on September 19, 2023, at the age of 95 Years, 7 Months, and 13 Days. She was born on February 6, 1928, in Lutts, TN, to her late parents Ira Martin and Roxie Melson Stricklin. Ann dedicated many years of her life to her career as a stitching supervisor at Uniroyal in Dublin, GA before retiring. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and bragged on them to anyone she met.

Ann's faith was an important part of her life, and she was the oldest attending member of the Lutts Community Church. She found comfort and solace in her church family and cherished the friends she made there.

She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory. Ann is survived by her daughter Judy Steele of Lutts, TN; son Harv Stricklin (Shawn) of Milford, OH; sister Bitsy Weatherford of Lutts, TN; brother Sonny Stricklin (Ethel) of Iron City ,TN; four grandchildren: Jamie Steele (Katie) of Lutts, TN, Kerry Steele (Mandi) of Millington, TN, Kevin Steele (Kathleen) of Knoxville, TN, Matt Stricklin (Samantha) of Milford, OH; as well as five great-grandchildren: Tuck Steele, Chase Steele, Wesley Jenkins, Makenna Jenkins, Kelly Steele. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents Ira Martin and Roxie Melson Stricklin; two beloved husbands: James L. Abrams and Lewis Bonar; a son-in-law Bill Steele; a great-grandchild Logan James Steele. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Waymon Morris, Frankie Abrams, Ester Stricklin, Linnie Pigg, Grace Horton, and Nettie Faulkner. 

Visitation for Ann will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral service to honor Ann's life will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN. Chad Balentine will officiate the ceremony. Following the service, Ann will be laid to rest at Lutts Cemetery with the assistance of Shackelford Funeral Directors.

The pallbearers for Ann's service will be Harv Stricklin, Jamie Steele, Kerry Steele, Kevin Steele, Randy Abrams, and Sandy Abrams.
