Ann Vaughan Wellons, 69, of Bolivar, died Wednesday evening, July 26, 2006 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The wife of Louis Wellons, who survives, she taught at Bolivar Elementary and worked for a time at the Ormandy-Souperlative Kennel in White-Waltham near London, England under the guidance of Ms. Eva Weatherhill and Mr. Raymond Oppenheimer, CBE. Mrs. Wellons was born April 21, 1937 in Jackson, Tenn., daughter of the late Paul Dorris Vaughan and Eloine Newman Vaughan and lived in Hardeman County most of her life. She loved reading and showing bull terriers and was a member of Bolivar First United Methodist Church.
Services were 11 am Saturday, July 29, 2006, at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Tim Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.
In addition to her husband, whom she married November 5, 1955, survivors include two sons, Mike Wellons of Bolivar and Paul Wellons of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Judy Shackelford of Bolivar and two grandchildren, Ian and Rachel Wellons, both of Bolivar. She was preceded in death by one son, Chad Wellons.
