Ann Huddleston Mills

Mrs. Ann Huddleston Mills, 95, of Henderson, formerly of Pocahontas, departed this life at home on Saturday evening, January 13, 2024.

She was born in Bolivar on Saturday, June 2, 1928, the daughter of the late Powell and Lula Baker Huddleston.  Mrs. Mills married Mr. Maurice Edward Mills on March 25, 1943 and he passed away on January 1, 2012 following 68 years of marriage.  The Mills' lived in Memphis for over 40 years before moving to Pocahontas following retirement.  Mrs. Mills moved to Oakland, TN three years ago and to Henderson in the last few months.  While in Memphis, she worked at JC Penney as a supervisor.  A member of Pocahontas Baptist Church, she helped her husband garden and can vegetables.

She leaves three daughters, Deborah Upchurch of Oakland, TN, Linda Mills Hanks (Ronnie) of Bartlett and Marilyn Fryar (Glenn Miller) of Middleton; one son, Thomas E. Mills (Linda) of Hernando, MS; one sister, Sherry Everett Page (Frank) of Ormond Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, Lisa Brock (Johnny), Misty Byrd (Randy), Shane Fryar (Kelly), Tracy Dement (Michael), Christy McLaughlin (Mike), Michelle Davis and, Mark Upchurch; 10 great-grandchildren and, three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Luttrell and Sue Lowrance; and a brother, Robert Huddleston.
