August 17, 1939 — January 5, 2007

Services for Ann Kelly Lay, 67, of Collinwood, TN, will be Sunday, January 7, 2007 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Collinwood, with Harold King and Frank Ray officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers will be Matt and Will Moorehead, Mike McClain, Zack, John, and Jake Lay. Visitation will be Saturday, January 6, 2007 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the funeral home and Sunday, January 7, 2007 from 1 pm to 3 pm at First Baptist Church, Collinwood. She died at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN, on Friday, January 5, 2007.



A native of Wayne County, TN, Mrs. Lay was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Collinwood. She was a former director of the Wayne County Senior Citizens and during her career, she was instrumental in developing the Collinwood and Clifton Centers and in getting van transportation service for the public. Mrs. Lay was one of the original founders of the CHS Quarterback Club for the Collinwood football team that began in 1974. She was a daughter of the late Burbin C. and Viola Ray Kelly.



Survivors, husband, Billy Wade Lay, Collinwood, sons, Brent Lay and wife, Thais, of Parsons, TN, Bart Lay and wife, Lisa, of Smithville, TN, grandchildren, Tara, Zack, John, and Jake Lay and Dee Dee Butler, sisters, Jean Thacker, Clifton, TN, Margaret Horn, McMinnville, TN, Shirley Kelley, Waynesboro, TN, Nancy Moorehead, Chapel Hill, TN, several nieces and nephews.



The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given to the Gideons organization.
