Ann Basden

Mrs. Basden passed away Thursday afternoon at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.



The wife of Milton R. Basden, who survives, she taught first grade at Bolivar Elementary School, retiring after 33 years. She was born November 2, 1929 in Covington to the late Norris N. and Ethel Owen Bringle, and received her early education at Tipton County Schools. After her marriage, she moved to Hardeman County where she lived the remainder of her life. Mrs. Basden was a graduate of Union University where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was a member at Bolivar First Baptist Church, was very involved with the nursery age group and was a Sunday school teacher.



In addition to her husband, whom she married June 17, 1951, survivors are a daughter, Paula Basden of Jackson; a son, Edward Basden of Norcross, GA; three sisters, Effie Bringle Dunn of Four Oaks, NC, Sue Bringle Williamson of Brownsville, Rebecca Bringle of Covington; and two brothers, Richard and Harry Bringle, both of Covington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
