Andy (Pete) Pickens
was born in Morris Chapel, Tennessee the son of the late George Brown and Manervia Stricklin Pickens.
On December 1, 1999 he was united in marriage to the former Lucille Tidwell, who survives.
Mr. Pickens was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from his job with Standard Construction Company. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He departed this life on December 3, 2006 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 6 days.
Mr. Pickens is survived by his wife, Lucille Tidwell Pickens of Savannah, Tennessee;
3 sons: Mike Pickens of Franklin, Tennessee. Ricky Pickens and his wife, Rhonda, of Morris Chapel, Tennessee, and Tim Pickens and his wife, Mary, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; a step-son, Howard Stricklin and his wife, Mary Jo, of Savannah, Tennessee; a step-grandson, Stacey Stricklin; and a sister, Ora Young of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steve Pickens; a grandson, Alan Pickens; 2 brothers: Jack Pickens and Bill Pickens and a sister, Rona Alexander.
