Andrew Brown
Was born on April 23, 1909 in Florence, Alabama the son of the late Jim and Janie Miller Brown.
He was united in marriage to the former Ollie Mae Ward, who preceded him in death on June 11, 1991. Mr. Brown had lived in the Nixon Community of Hardin County, Tennessee all of his life. During his life he worked as a farmer and a sawmill worker. Mr. Brown was also of Pentecostal belief. As a hobby, he bottomed chairs and was best known for walking from Nixon to Savannah.
He departed this life on May 18, 2006 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 97 years and 25 days.
Mr. Brown is survived by
2 daughters: Mary Lou “Luddy†Snodgrass and Judy Faye Beckham, both of Savannah, Tennessee;
2 sons: Troy Lee “Bean†Brown of Linden, Tennessee and Roger Carlton Brown of Savannah, Tennessee;
23 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Ollie Mae Brown, he was preceded in death by
2 children: Johnnie Mae Garlin and Andrew Brown, Jr.; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Betty Lee Ada Young and Lizzie Henson
and 2 brothers: Hurbert Brown and Riley Brown.
