Andrew Griffin Bevis

Andrew Griffin Bevis was born July 25, 1917 in Lutts, Tennessee, the son of the late Louis Daniel and Minnie Murphy Bevis. He was united in marriage to Cora Belle McFall on December 30, 1933 who preceded him in death on April 5, 2002.
Mr. Bevis was retired from TVA and enjoyed farming. He was a member of the Pine Hill Church of Christ, Florence, Alabama.
Mr. Bevis departed this life on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at his daughter's home in Waterloo, Alabama at the age of 91 Years, 1 Month, 19 Days.
Services will be Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Sammy Franks officiating. Burial will be in Murphy's Chapel Cemetery, Florence, Alabama with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Dewayne, Lonnie, Terry, Bobby, and Phillip Bevis and Randall Woods. Visitation will be Monday, September 15, 2008 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Tuesday, September 16, 2008 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.
Survivors include, daughters, Lois Young, Waterloo, AL, Lillie Margaret Brewer, Florence, AL; sons, Willie Dalton Bevis, Waterloo, AL, Frederick Eugene Bevis, Florence, AL, Jimmy Lynn Bevis, Forest, MS; sister, Sarah Francis Robbins, Roseville, MI; eightteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Bevis was preceded in death by a son, Louie Bevis; brothers, Willie, Morris, and L. D. Bevis; sisters, Edith Young, Helen Carothers.
