Amos Thacker

Amos Thacker was born July 23, 1917 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Henry and Edna Sowell Thacker.He was united in marriage to Lavera Moore in 1943. Mrs. Thacker preceded him in death on November 24, 1993.Mr. Thacker was a retired farmer, and was of the pentecostal faith.Mr. Thacker departed this life on February 24, 2008 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 7 Months, 1 Day. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Frances (Thacker) Owens of Selmer, TN; a son, Paul Eathel Thacker and wife Glee of Selmer, TN; six grandchildren: Toby Owens, Anthony Thacker, Natalie Ellis, Eric Owens, Matthew Thacker and Elliott Thacker; and 5 great-grandchlidren.In addition to his parents and spouse, Mr. Thacker was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gene Owens and 11 siblings.
