Mr. Henson was born and reared in Hardeman County, near Silerton, the son of the late A.O. and Carrie Gee Henson. He went to high school in Bolivar and in 1934 was married to Johnnie Pearl Cupples. They moved to Chester County and had farmed in the Woodville Community all of their married life. He and Mr. Hubert Seaton formed the Chester County Co-op Gas Company and eventually sold it to the Chester Farmer’s Co-op. He was co-owner with E.H. Kiestler in the Kiestler-Henson Gin Company for twenty years. He was a member of the Chester County Democratic Executive Committee and had served as County Party Chairman. He had served on the Chester County Election Commission and also the Farmers Home Administration Board for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Johnnie Pearl Cupples Henson of Bethel Springs; two daughters, Joyce McMahan and her husband Horice of Bethel Springs and Wanda Seaton and her husband Terry of Henderson; three grandchildren, Dr. Darryl Moore, Kim Seaton and Kristy Seaton; six great grandchildren, Ross, Katie and Maggie Moore; Mason and Bethany Weaver and Emilee Perry; two sisters, Lila Jo Rowland and Janie Sue Crawford both of Hornsby; and a very special person to him, Sheila Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Henson and a sister, Myra Lee Henson.
