Alvin West Glenn, age 82 of Toone, passed from this life Sunday night, January 25, 2009 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.He was born December 10, 1926 to the late Homer and Ludie Puckett Glenn in Madison County. A native of Mercer, he lived 28 years in Chicago and has lived in the Hardeman County area for the past 25-30 years. He married Johnnie Sue Young, who survives, April 7, 1948 and served in the United States Army. He had worked for Ford Motor Company as an autoworker until 1980. He was a member of the Bolivar Church of God.In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Martha Sue Glenn of Calumet City, IL, Mary Ann Gomez of Toone and Melinda Jean Brewer of Toone; a brother, James Osborne "Ben" Glenn of Jackson; six grandchildren, Cris Stanford-Hill, Craig Brewer, Erica Maxwell, Michael Brewer, Joseph Gomez and Trista Shields; and nine great-grandchildren, Kamryn Edgemon, Chelsea Brewer, Weston Brewer, Olivia Stanford, Alex Gomez, Cannon Brewer, Colby Shields, Dakota Shields and Alayna Maxwell.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Jean Glenn; a sister, Ruth Byrum; and two brothers, Woodrow Glenn and Thurmond Glenn.
