Alton Ray Thomas
was born in Perry County, Mississippi on June 18, 1923 the son of the late Walter and Beaulah Herring Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was the 8th of 10 children. He began his service with the U.S. Army in1948, was discharged in 1949 and served 5 years in the Army Reserve. He worked with General Motors at Willow Run in Ypsilanti, Michigan from October of 1955 till October of 1985. Mr. Thomas was a member of the House of Mercy Pentecostal Church in Morris Chapel, Tennessee for 19 years.
He departed this life on November 13, 2006 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 26 days.
