Altie M. Pettigrew, 91, of Pocahontas, died Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Mississippi Care Center in Corinth.
The widow of Gordon M. Pettigrew, who died in 1978, she was a clerk at Middleton Dry Cleaners for several years before retiring over 20 years ago. Mrs. Pettigrew was born October 15, 1914, in McNairy County, daughter of the late Albert Polk Lawson and Maggie Hawkins Lawson. She lived in Pocahontas all of her life, graduating from Middleton High School in 1937. Mrs. Pettigrew loved to garden and was a member of Pocahontas Church of Christ.
Services were 3 pm Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Middleton chapel with Randy Meade officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery near Pocahontas.
Survivors include one daughter, Romie June Pettigrew; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Rhonda Pettigrew and one granddaughter, Jill Pettigrew, all of Pocahontas. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Montie and Brodie Lawson and one sister, Lois Lawson Jacobs.
