Altie Oease Jackson

March 23, 1920 — January 8, 2006

Altie Oease Jackson, 85, of Bolivar, died Sunday, January 8, 2006 at Bolivar General Hospital.



The widow of Buford D. Jackson, who died May 17, 2004 after 61 years of marriage, she was a beauty shop owner for 12 years and worked at WMHI for 8 years. Mrs. Jackson was born March 23, 1920 in Hardeman County, daughter of the late Robert Troy McAlpin and Nancy Eldis Howell McAlpin. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Ladies Auxillary of the VFW and Hebron Baptist Church. Mrs. Jackson loved to knit.



Services were 1 PM Wednesday, January 11, 2005 at Shackelford’s Bolivar chapel with David Cooper and Bertie Moore officiating. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery near Middleton.



Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis Adair of Bolivar; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Joy Westerfield of Midwest, Okla., Lois Janette McAlpin of Byhalia, Miss. and one brother, Billy Wade McAlpin of Elizabethtown, KY. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Bobby Dean Jackson, Donald Gene Jackson, and Harold Lynn Jackson; one grandson, Michael Sean Ford; and four brothers, Vernon, Virgil, Wayne and William “Mac” McAlpin.
