Funeral services for Alta Bernice Patterson of Waynesboro will be 1:00 pm Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Shackelford Chapel in Waynesboro with Jerry Robbins and H.H.Hurst officiating. Interment will follow in Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery near Collinwood with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of arrangements.
She was born in Lutts, TN, a daughter of the late Charlie and Lula Lawson Patterson. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Herschel Patterson and wife Gladys, a sister, Edith Mae Rich, nephew, Lynn Rich, and great nephew, Roy Moore, Jr.
She has been a member of the Methodist Church since an early age; however she attended Calvary Baptist Church for 25 years. She was retired from Clifton Manufacturing Company. She was a song writer having many of her songs published over the years.
Survivors are nieces, Nina Sue McWilliams of Waynesboro, TN, Donna Moore of Centerville, TN, Doris Barkley of Evansville, Indiana; and a nephew, Charles R. Patterson of Mid West City, Oklahoma
