Alma B. Fortune

Alma B. Fortunewas born in Rossville, Tennessee on November 10, 1924 the daughter of the late Ernest L. and Sarah Elizabeth Hadley Wade.On December 26, 1941 she was united in marriage to Ernest Terry Fortune, who survives.Mrs. Fortune was an Administrative Assistant with the Memphis City School System. She enjoyed watching sports, especially watching her son and grandchildren participate. She loved to cook and was famous for her kraut salad and pecan pies. Mrs. Fortune was a member of the Kensington Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW.Mrs. Fortune departed this life on December 28, 2010 at the age of 86 years, 1 month, 18 days.In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael Terry Fortune and wife Janet A. of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 grandchildren, Jason Wade Fortune and wife Heather, Justin Warren Fortune and wife Kara; 2 great grandchildren, Brandt Fortune and Brennan Fortune.Services will be held on December 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Memphis Memory Gardens in Memphis, Tennessee, with John Bramlett and Luther Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow in the Memphis Memory Gardens at Memphis, Tennessee.
