Alice Young, 92, of Bolivar, passed away Thursday morning, March 24, 2022, at Maplewood Healthcare Center in Jackson.
The widow of Clifford Eugene Young, who died on September 1, 1993, after 40 years of marriage, she was a homemaker and mother and also worked as a floral designer at Bolivar Florist for 30 years. She was born Wednesday, February 19, 1930, in Williston, daughter of the late James Lee 'Jimmie' Bishop and Birdie Thomas Bishop, living most of her life in Hardeman County. She was known to be very creative and was a master seamstress, very talented with crafts, painting, and was always quick to help others. Mrs. Alice enjoyed taking care of others and was very active in her community. Her faith was strong, and she was a constant prayer warrior. She lived for her church and building women up. Mrs. Young was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, of whom she was most proud, Donald L. Young (Andrea) of Bolivar and Jeffery L. Young (Ginger) of Bells; her grandchildren, Sarah Grace Avent, Katie Fitzpatrick and Kelly Myers; and 6 great grandchildren.
