Alice Cierley Thrasher was born February 15, 1915 in the New Hope community of Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Will and Etta Cierley.She was united in marriage to William Leslie Thrasher in 1938. Mr. Thrasher preceded her in death on August 8, 1979, after 41 years of marriage. Mrs. Thrasher was a cutting room worker for Garan Sportswear in Adamsville until her retirement. She was a member of the New Hope Church.Mrs. Thrasher departed this life on October 24, 2007 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 8 Months, 9 Days. She is survived by a son, Terry Thrasher and wife Cindy of Adamsville, TN; two granddaughters: Leslie Thrasher of Adamsville, TN and Kerri Murphy and husband Cliff of Decatur, AL; two great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Owen Murphy, both of Decatur, AL; three sisters: Nell Combs and Ava Maloney, both of Cincinnati, OH and Jean Sanders of Washington, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Thrasher was preceded in death by six sisters: Notra Glover, Neva Hutcherson, Lucille Hamilton, Geraldine Long, Dorothy Cierley and Daisy Cierley; and three brothers: Burdine Cierley, Horace Cierley, Billy Cierley.
