Alice Maxine Cain, 77, of Middleton, died Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She retired as a shift supervisor from Aldens Company. Ms. Cain was born June 1, 1928 in Potts Camp, Miss. daughter of the late Clarence and Janie Minor Clayton and lived for a time in St. Louis and Chicago before returning here 17 years ago to make her home. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Walnut, Miss.
Services are 2:00 PM Sunday, May 21, 2006 at Shackelford’s Middleton chapel with Brian Tatum officiating. Burial is in Clayton Cemetery near Potts Camp, Miss.
She is survived by two daughters, Janie Gill of Middleton and Nancy Jarach of Addison, IL; one son, Aaron Leggett of Middleton; two sisters, Geneva Derenski of Middleton and Cleora Crowell of Dixon; three half-sisters, Violet Lessel and Dorothy Smith, both of Ecru, Miss. and Fairlee Hall of New Albany, Miss.; her twin brother, Eugene Clayton of Melbourne, FL, and four brothers, Robert Clayton of Walnut, MS, R.C. Clayton of Potts Camp, MS, Leland Clayton of White Bluff and Raybon Clayton of Tennessee Ridge; one half-brother, Purvis Clayton of Ecru, Miss.; her step-mother, Coralee Clayton of Ecru; nine grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Vernell Farris and Ezelle Kirk and one half-brother, Curtis Clayton.
