Alfred C Petty

Mr. Petty passed away Friday, December 28 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. The husband of Ruby Nell Smith Petty, who survives, he was a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant with the US Marines, with 21 years of service, having participated in World War II and in Korea. He also was a government inspector with the Civil Service. He was born to Sam and Alberton 'Bert' Lee Petty, both of whom preceded him in death and had lived in Middleton since 1964. Mr. Petty was a Baptist in belief.



In addition to his wife, whom he married on January 4, 1945, survivors include a daughter and her husband, Linda and Lester Bell of Middleton; two sisters, Opal Berry of Owensboro, KY and Sammie Bevill of Blythevile, AR; a brother, Jack Lee Petty of Blytheville, AR; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Petty, a brother, James Petty and a grandson, Mike Bell.
