Alex J. Hawkins

October 9, 1925 — October 21, 2007

Mr. Hawkins died October 21 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was the husband of Bobbie Bevill Hawkins, who survives and worked for 19 1/2 years as a bus driver for the Hardeman County School System. He was a dozier operator for 7 years and ran a lawnmower shop after his retirement. He was born in Middleton, son of the late Bob Neely Hawkins and Eupha Frances Earnest Hawkins and lived all of his life here. Mr. Hawkins was a member of Rogers Springs Church of Christ.



In addition to his wife, whom he married on Sep. 21, 1948, survivors include a daughter, Betty Wiggins and her husband, Coy, of Pocahontas; two sons, Wayne Hawkins and his wife, Loretta, of Walnut, Miss. and Christopher Hawkins of Pocahontas; a sister, Faye Newman of Boilvar; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Horace Willie Hawkins and a grandson, Billy Wayne Hawkins.
