Albert M. Durham was born September 12, 1918 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. He was the son of the late James Robert Durham, Sr. and Virginia Shelby Durham.On April 21, 1945 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Maxine Rogers in Corinth, Mississippi. They have just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary earlier this year.Mr. Durham served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and spent the early part of his life as a farmer. After that, he spent many years working at the Brown Shoe Company plant in Savannah and later Ripley Industries in Adamsville. More recently, he worked part-time at the Walmart store in Savannah.Mr. Durham was a member of Faith Pointe Church in Adamsville. Earlier in his life he was a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the church board.Mr. Durham is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Durham of Adamsville and two children, Betty Manley of Memphis, TN and Leonard Durham of Adamsville. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jason Manley of Columbus, OH and April Richardson of Chesapeake, VA along with four great grandchildren. A brother, James Robert Durham, Jr. also survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Durham and Vernon Durham along with four sisters, Cora Foster, Maggie Fondren, Irene Boswell, and Elizabeth Durham.
