AGNES SMITH
Henderson, TN: Agnes Tenry Smith, age 96, passed away October 10, 2024, at Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 5, 1928, in Chester County, TN the daughter of the late Gilbert and Florence Agnes Bishop Tenry. She grew up in Enville, TN.
She married Merl Elijah Smith on May 5, 1953. They made their home in Henderson. Mr. Smith preceded her in death on January 10, 2006.
She was a member of the Enville Methodist Church and served as Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Jacks Creek Home Demonstration Club.
She liked sewing, gardening and working in her flower beds.
She was a devoted wife and mother.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a son, Robert Smith of Henderson and a daughter, Marilyn Mooney (Mike) of Reagan and two grandchildren, Glenn Mooney (Tammy) and Lynn Mooney (Shelly) and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, seven brothers, Reabon Tenry, Ray Tenry, Harold Tenry, Knox Tenry, Neal Tenry Welton Tenry and Wilson Tenry and two sisters, Ivene Bishop and Ulene Cash.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 16th at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Robert Conder, Bro. Ronnie Geary and Bro. Ken Frye officiating.
The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Cemetery 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM service time on Wednesday.
