A. Franklin Foster, 78, of Jackson, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
The widower of Carol Nell Foster, who died July 10, 2003, he was a farmer, truck driver and barber. Mr. Foster was born September 3, 1926 in Hardeman County, son of the late William Franklin Foster and Lucille McCommon Foster and made his home in Jackson in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army in the Phillipines.
Services were 1 PM Saturday, May 14, at Shackelford's Bolivar Chapel with Tony Martin and Warren Lowrance officiating. Burial was at West Memorial Cemetery near Saulsbury with his grandsons serving as casket bearers.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Pam and Richard Killham of Cookeville and B. Gayle and Dr. Michael McCord of Beaumont, Tex.; two sons, F. Dean Foster and his wife, Judy L. Foster, and Michael A. Foster, all of Jackson; five sisters, Hazel Hurley of Saulsbury, Ruby Callahan of Hickory Valley, Martha Lou Fendley of Bentonville, Ark., Barbara Hall of Middleton and Betty Rogers of Hickory Valley; two brothers, Warren Foster of Saulsbury and Donnie Foster of Memphis; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Doege, Deana Jacobs, Josh Foster, Wesley Rayburn, Holly
Foster, Matt Foster, Ryan and Joseph Shanahan and three great granddaughters. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by son, Danny Ray Foster; grandson, Michael Foster; brother and sister, Billy and Inez Foster.
