STEVEN MICHAEL KERNS
was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 21, 1998 the son of Rhonda Faye Howe Nelson.
While in high school, Steven was a culinary artist for Fast Times Gas Station in Brighton, Tennessee. After his graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he worked in the Intelligence Department, serving his country proudly from July 25, 2017 until September 6, 2018. Throughout high school and his military service, Steven was a member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, (FCCLA). He was currently working for Legendary Marine as a dry dock marina driver, a perfect job since he loved living on the beach.
Steven departed this life on August 18, 2020 in Florida at the age of 21 years, 10 months and 28 days.
In addition to his mother, Rhonda Nelson and her husband Edward of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by his brothers, Terry, M.J., Caden, and Justin, all of Savannah, Tennessee, Jacob and Morgan, both of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and his sister, Kayla of Savannah, Tennessee.
All Steven wanted to do was be a hero and he truly was a genuine hero to everyone that knew him. He wanted to take the pain away from the world and there was nothing he wouldn't do to make your day better. He truly was a good soul.
