Rev. Roger Hatch

Rev. Roger Hatch, age 76, departed this life on Sunday afternoon, August 8, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

A native and life-long resident of the Piney Grove Community near Silerton, TN, he was the son of the late Elvis E. and Sue Tull Hatch. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanne Staggs; a sister, Sherry Hatch; and two brothers, Tommy Joe and Charles Hatch.

Rev. Hatch had been minister for and a member of Woodville Baptist Church since the mid-1970's and also had been preacher for New Hope Baptist. In earlier years, Roger had been owner/operator of his own automotive repair business in Whiteville, TN.

Dedicated to his work as a minister, Rev. Hatch was a friend to all. Tributes to his compassion for his fellow man and his selflessness were the many funerals he was called on to hold throughout Hardeman, McNairy and Chester counties.

He is survived by a granddaughter, Payton Hammons (Daniel Payne) of Beech Bluff, TN; a sister, Linda Faye Russell (Steve) of Middleton; a brother, Michael Hatch (Mitzi) of Silerton; and several nieces and nephews.
