Mary Nell Prater

Mary Nell Thompson Prater departed this life on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 69 Years, 6 Months, 12 Days. She was born April 26, 1947 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late James Oscar and Charlie Shipman Thompson.

She was united in marriage to Jerry Wayne Prater on July 5, 1974.

Mrs. Prater was a retired school teacher . She was a member of the Evans Chapel Church, Wayne County Retired Teachers and Tennessee Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by her husband Jerry Wayne Prater , daughter, Nelda Prater, sister, Sarah Cook all of Waynesboro, TN.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Tracy Love officiating. Burial will follow in Shipman Cemetery ,Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 8, 6:00-9:00 pm and on Wednesday, November 9, 8:00 am until service time.
