LORETTA PICKETT

Henderson, TN: Loretta Jean Waselewski Pickett, age 88 passed away Tuesday February 18, 2020 at her home.

She was born December 4, 1931 in LaSalle, IL the daughter of the late Victor Francis and Mary Agnes Pietiowski Waselewski . She grew up and attended school in LaSalle. She married Columbus Pickett November 30, 1963. They owned and operated Loretta’s Restaurant in Rochelle, IL for six years. They then moved to the Sweetlips community (where Columbus grew up). While in Chester County she worked as a seamstress at Salant & Salant and then I APEL for ten years retiring in 1993.

She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, crafts, refinishing old furniture and working in her flowers. She loved her grandchildren and her church. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Mrs. Pickett is survived by her husband, Columbus Detroyce Pickett of Henderson; sons, Jeffery Allen Pickett (Robin) of Finger, Gary Lee Pickett (Pamela) of Henderson and William Terry Pickett of Henderson, Mike Olsewski (Deceased) and Mark Olsewski and daughters, Linda Pickett Taylor (Dannie) of Finger and Diane Olsewski Ziwicka; grandchildren, Krystal Ross, Dakota Taylor, Dustin Taylor, Darren Taylor, Allen Pickett, Brittany Pickett, Tanner Hathcock, Morgan Pickett, Duran Pickett, Nathan Pickett, Scotty Pickett, Dennis Stephen Pickett (Deceased), Gayla Pickett Woods and Abby Pickett and seventeen great grandchildren; a brother, Roy Waselewski of LaSalle, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and a grandson, brothers, John Waselewski, Victor Thomas Waselewski, Jimmy Waselewski and a sister Dorathy Waselewski Carlson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 22nd at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Johnny Bullman officiating. Burial will follow in Sweetlips Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at East Main 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday.
