Linda Balentine was born on July 8, 1950 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Arch R. and Maggie Ward Deshazier.
On August 20, 1994, she was united in marriage to Joe Balentine, who preceded his wife in death on May 25, 2012.
Mrs. Balentine was of the Pentecostal faith. She held many jobs throughout her life, including working as a truck driver for East-West Motor Freight from 1988-2003 and Elam-ETC Trucking for 3 years, being a teacher's aide for South Elementary School, selling insurance for Lendon Grisham, and selling real estate. Linda loved fishing, sewing, boating, cooking, camping, flower gardening, traveling, decorating her home, reading, going to church, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Linda Balentine departed this life on January 21, 2021 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 70 years, 6 months, and 13 days.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy Brewer of Nashville, Tennessee; Lisa Hawkins of Huntsville, Alabama; and Terry Tharp of Savannah, Tennessee; step children, Rick Balentine, Glenda Smith, Sandra Gratze, and Denise McMurray; sisters, Viola Holt, Betty Lewis, Joanna Rickman, Brenda Keele, and Anita Scott, all of Savannah, Tennessee; brothers, Floyd Deshazier, Odie Deshazier, David Deshazier, Carmack Deshazier, and Billy Deshazier; grandchildren, Dustin Brewer, Dakota Brewer, Katlyn Hawkins, Lindsey Hawkins, Bryan Hawkins, Sarah Hawkins, Brandon Tharp, and River Tharp; great grandchild, Grayson Wheeler; 18 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, LuAnn Brewer; nieces, Dottie Smith and Melissa Gargac; and her best friend, Barbara McCain of Counce, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Lillie Smith; brothers, Buster Deshazier, L.V. Deshazier, Bobby Deshazier, Danny Deshazier, James Deshazier, and Henry Deshazier; and step daughter, Peggy Jo Balentine.
