LEON CARROLL
Beech Bluff, TN: Terry Leon Carroll age 84 passed away Wednesday afternoon July 29, 2020 at his home.
He was born December 22, 1935 in Chester County, the son of the late Lonnie Houston and Madgie Mae Butler Carroll. He grew up in Chester County and lived his entire life on the family farm. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1954. He joined the TN Army National Guard in 1958 and served full time until 1994 and retired as MSG E8 serving thirty-six years.
After his military career he worked at Hilltop Sanitation Center for sixteen years retiring again as the longest tenured employee. He was a faithful member of the New Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on the family farm. He loved spending time with his family especially the grandchildren and was looking forward to the birth of his first great granddaughter, Ada Lyn.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Cupples Carroll of Beech Bluff; two daughters, Debbie Morris (Bruce) of Henderson and Kim Carroll (Kenny) of Henderson; four grandchildren, Benjamin Brewer of Ft. Myers, FL, Mallan Morris Of Jacks Creek, Callie McDonald of Pinson and Wesley Morris of Jackson; a great granddaughter, Ada Lyn; a brother, Jerry Carroll (Nadine) of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas Wayne Carroll.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 3rd at Shackelford Funeral Directors - East Main Chapel with Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at East Main Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday.
