Lena Mae Plunk was born June 3, 1926 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Richard C. (Dick) and Ethel Elizabeth Loftin Hester.
She was united in marriage to Amos Calvin Plunk on September 11, 1943. Mr. Plunk preceded her in death on April 29, 1990, following 46 years of marriage.
Mrs. Plunk was a dedicated homemaker who loved caring for her family. She enjoyed raising vegetables in her garden, quilting, and making cushions; she lovingly handcrafted quilts for each of her children and a special wedding ring quilt for her husband. She practiced hospitality and loved having visitors in her home-if you stopped by you could always count on being offered something to eat or drink before leaving. Mrs. Plunk attended Forty Forks Baptist Church with her "favorite son" Tim when she was able.
Mrs. Plunk departed this life on May 6, 2020 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 93 Years, 11 Months, 3 Days. She is survived by a son, Tim Plunk and wife Paula of Bethel Springs, TN; three daughters: Pat Davis and husband Jack of Selmer, TN, Jeanette Webster and husband Jimmy of Bethel Springs, TN, and Joyce Dickey and husband Charles of Bethel Springs, TN; five grandchildren: Lindsay Dyle and husband Stephen, Michelle Turner and husband Mark, Michael Webster, Chris Dickey, and John Wood and wife Stacy; four great-grandchildren: Katie Turner, Luke Webster, Lauren Wood, and Bradley Wood; a great-great-grandchild, Greyson Upright; a son-in-law, Jack Wood of Bethel Springs, TN; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Plunk was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Elizabeth Wood; a sister, Dahlia McCann; and two brothers, John Hester and D. C. Hester.
