KATHY BUSBY
Henderson, TN: Kathy Odessa Busby age 78, passed away January 4, 2023 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born January 11, 1944, in Chester County, the daughter of the late Henry Grady and Bonnie Cortella Maness. She grew up in the Glendale Community and attended Chester County High School.
She married Billy Busby on November 14, 1959. They made their home in the Sweetlips Community of Chester County. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2015.
She drove a school bus for Chester County Schools for twenty years and worked for Lee Jean Company in Jackson for thirteen years. Upon retirement, she enjoyed gardening and riding her four-wheeler.
She was well known for growing pumpkins, watermelons, and cantaloupes.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a member of the Sweetlips Baptist Church.
Mrs. Busby is survived by a son, Jason Busby of Henderson; two daughters, Pamela Pickett (Gary) of Henderson and Amy Morrison (Ricky) of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Morgan Pickett Smith (Will), Seneca Deck (Blake), Cody Busby (Robin), Duran Pickett, Dakota Deck (Marissa), Nathan Pickett (Sarah) and Savannah Recinos (Eduardo); twelve great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Sue Malone (Charlie) of Henderson, Dorothy Miller of Henderson and Martha Bishop (Carlos Schmitt) of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Rebecca Wallace and Bonnie Ann Walker and two brothers, Randolph Maness and Kenneth Maness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 7th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Ricky Tedford officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetlips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday.
