Jerry L. Rogers, Sr., 82, of Somerville, passed from this life Thursday, December 29, 2022, at his home in Somerville.
He was born Sunday, February 11, 1940, in Somerville, son of the late Clifton and Ethel Rogers, living all of his life in the Somerville area. He married Eva Nel Lee on December 23, 1959, and she preceded him in death on September 11, 2016. Mr. Rogers worked 30+ years as an HVAC tech and in his spare time, enjoyed hunting, fishing and fixing up old Ford cars and trucks.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Jerry L. Rogers, Jr. (Barbara) and Tim Rogers (Vicki), both of Somerville; a sister, Sue Shelby of Somerville; two grandchildren, Nicole Pickett (Jon) and Chelsie Hodges (Coleman), both of Somerville; and three great grandchildren, Emma, Lane and River. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Billy, Fay, Jack, Earl and Jimmy, and a grandson, Christopher Rogers.
