Janis Marie Holt of Waynesboro was born March 5, 1947 in Seattle, Washington, the daughter of the late Joe and Eleanor Steltzner Marable. Mrs. Holt died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 67 Years, 10 Months, 24 Days. While living in Seattle she was employed at Safeway Stores and Seattle Police Department. After relocating to Wayne County she worked as a legal secretary for Judge James Ross. She was a member of Eastern Star, F.C.E., and Millrock Freewill Baptist Church. She was married to Aaron "Danny" Holt May 7, 1983 who survives of Waynesboro, TN. Other survivors are a son, Timothy E. Krueger and wife Monica, granddaughter Tabitha Krueger all of Edgewood, Washington, three brothers, Jon Marable and wife Jean of Lake Stevens, Washington, Ken Marable and wife Tina of Shoreline, Washington, George Marable and wife Scottie of Redmond, Washington, two sisters, Pat Abramovitz of Topeka, Kansas, and Judy King and husband Harvey of Linwood, Kansas, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, February 2, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Tim Hanback and Stacey Holt officiating. Rites of Order of Eastern Star will be given. Burial will follow in Collinwood Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Paul Hammack, Billy Holt, Bobby Holt, Smitty Smith, Joe Horton, and Marcus Adams.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM and Monday, February 2, 2015 from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
