James E. Staggs

James E. Staggs was born in Collinwood, TN on November 13, 1945 the son of the late Lester and Georgia Kephart Staggs.
James graduated from Collinwood High School in 1964. In 1965 he went in to the army. He served 15 months in Vietnam where he was wounded and received the purple heart medal.
He then was self employed, he owned Staggs Sawmill and Logging.
In 1980 he married Janet Daniel Staggs.
James was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
He departed this life on February 1, 2023 at the age of 77 years, 2 months, and 19 days.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Staggs; children, Marcus William Staggs and Adam Daniel Staggs (Candy); brother; Edward Allen Staggs; sister, Margaret Staggs Pigg; grandchildren, Madison Nichole Staggs, Chanston Clay, Destany Clay, and Rhylee Clay; great-grandchild, Solan Blayne Clay.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one son, James Timothy (Tim) Staggs.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Bob Johnston and Greg Eaton officiating. Burial followed in Macedonia Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Alan Daniel, Bryan Daniel, Taylor Daniel, Randall Arnett, Donnie Robertson, and Greg Pigg.
