James Damon Chester was born April 22, 1952 in Humboldt, TN, the son of the late James Alvin Chester Jr. and Valley Beatrice McCoy Chester.
Damon was united in marriage to Rita Ellen Sowell on September 2, 1971. He was a Mason, member of the Selmer Moose Lodge and had worked for Brown Shoe Company for many years.
Mr. Chester departed this life on July 28, 2020 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 68 Years, 3 Months, 6 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Ellen Sowell Chester of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Ganus and husband Dewyatt of Adamsville, TN; a son, James Eric Chester of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren: Ethan, Nathan and Khloe Ganus; two sisters, Sylvia Sanders and husband Dan of Humboldt, TN, Joyce Napierala and husband Frank of Medina, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family requests that visitors observe social distancing guidelines and wearing masks is optional for visitation and service.
