Howard Skelton

Howard Skelton of Waynesboro, TN was born August 24, 1930 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Amos Henry and Claytie Bell Morgan Skelton. He was united in marriage to Rachel Reeves on September 17, 1955.

Mr. Skelton was a retired machine operator from Genesco and departed this life on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 9 Months, 23 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Reeves Skelton; a son, Tony Skelton and wife, Chanda and a daughter, Gayla Skelton Andrews all of Waynesboro, TN;
grandchildren, Dahkina Andrews, Haden Skelton, Joelton Whitehead, Kayleigh Skelton and Zoie Skelton; a great-granddaughter, Maelee Lynn Holt; brothers, Henry Jr. Skelton of Waynesboro, TN, William Thomas Skelton of Tullahoma, TN, Leo Skelton of Magnolia, AR; sisters, Carolyn Skelton Bosheers of Loretto, TN, Helen Skelton Terlecki of Trenton, MI, Irene Skelton Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Skelton was preceded in death by stepmother, Thelma Rose Skelton; a granddaughter, Chastina Skelton; brothers, Charles David Skelton, Robert Skelton; sisters, Belle Skelton Folger, Goldie Skelton McLane, Jean Skelton Pollock, Dorothy Skelton Holt, Willie Ann Skelton.

Services will be Monday, June 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton and Marshall Keeton officiating. Burial will follow in the Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Tommy Skelton, Jr. Skelton, Billy McClain, Brandon Cornstubble, David Skelton and Kerry Pollock. Honorary pallbearers will be Joelton Whitehead and Haden Skelton.

Visitation will be Sunday, 06/19/16 from 6 to 9 pm and Monday, 06/20/16 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
