Gary Lee Parrott

HENDERSON, TN;
Gary “Dub” Parrott, age 66, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at McNairy County Healthcare.
He was born in Jackson, TN on June 3, 1953, the son of the late John Junior and Doris Evelyn Walton Parrott. He grew up in Jackson and was a 1973 graduate of Northside High School. After high school, he worked for Bemis Cotton Mill for about three years. He then began working for Murray Guard Services in Jackson where he worked for 20 years. He later worked for the Whiteville Correctional Facility until he retired in 2014. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he had a special love for watching professional wrestling.
He is survived by one brother, Michael Anthony (Tony) of Engelsbraund, Germany; four sisters, Evelyn Claudette Stanley (Tom) of Bartlett, TN, Cindy Parrott of Jackson, TN, Cherri Gowdy of Henderson, and Lory Barham (Tim) of Pinson, TN.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Lisa Lynn Parrott and Johnnie Vantreese.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Dr. James Huggins and Tom Stanley officiating. The family will receive friends at East Main beginning at 12:00 noon on Sunday until service time at 2:00 PM.
