James Christopher "Tennessee" Birk departed this life on Monday, January 3, 2016, at the age of 31 years, 5 months, 9 days. He was born in Lucedale, Mississippi on July 25, 1984, the son of Scott Birk and Teresa Carroll Shelton.

James Christopher was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was employed with Performance Contractors as a safety manager.

He is survived by his father, Scott Birk and his wife, Greta of Savannah, Tennessee; mother, Teresa Shelton and husband, Carl of Rienzi, Mississippi; brothers, Kelcey Birk and wife, Danielle, Wade Austin and wife, Crystal all of Savannah, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Landon and Annabelle Birk, Alyssa, Hannah, and Emma Austin.
